The DS-160 asks for your social-media handles. It looks minor. It isn’t.

The requirement

You must list all accounts across platforms from the last 5 years — including ones you’ve deleted or deactivated. The consulate cross-checks archives and can see closed accounts.

Why hiding is catastrophic

Omitting an account is misrepresentation under §212(a)(6)(C) — a lifetime ban with no appeal. Far worse than any awkward post. Honesty here is non-negotiable.

What officers can see

Beyond the list, the officer may read your posts. Content that contradicts your stated purpose (relocation, working in the US) is a risk. Don’t delete dishonestly — just be aware.

How to prepare

List what you remember: platform, handle, year. Intel.Viza runs a 5-year digital-footprint audit so nothing is missed before you submit.
