«Interview wait» is the time from when you paid the $185 MRV and your payment cleared in ustraveldocs, to an available interview slot. Don't confuse it with total visa processing time — after the interview there are another 5-10 days for administrative processing and passport return.
The figures are averages over the last 4 weeks. Real slots vary by visa type (B1/B2 is usually faster than F1/J1), season (summer is busier), your profile, and even the specific day. Check via the official ustraveldocs after paying the MRV.
Ukrainians are effectively limited in choice: only Warsaw or Kraków. For citizens of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan the choice is wider — and sometimes the gap between the fastest and slowest consulate reaches 60-100 days. That's no trifle — it's the difference between «I'll fly in a month» and «I'll fly in half a year».
Choosing a consulate is just the start. Without a submitted DS-160 and a cleared MRV you won't see any interview slots at all. The Intel.Viza wizard fills the form with passport OCR and strategic tips in 20-30 minutes — your place in the queue is booked first.
PrivatBank, Mono, Russian and Belarusian cards often fail payment due to State Department AML filters. Our service guarantees clearing within 2-6 hours for $39. It pays off from the first failed attempt: you save a day of slot waiting.
Each consulate has its quirks: the Kraków officer runs a longer interview, the Warsaw one shorter; Almaty asks deep income questions less often. Intel.Viza models the interview specifically for your officer. The Premium plan adds a personal case review by a visa broker.
Technically, US embassies accept citizens of any country. But there are practical limits: since September 6, 2025 Ukrainians effectively only have Warsaw/Kraków (other countries don't accept Ukrainian B1/B2 applications). Citizens of RU, BY, KZ have a wider choice.
Yes, but a small one. The officer sees you hold legal status in another country — extra evidence you have somewhere to return to. But the profile is still assessed by your citizenship, not residency.
No. Consulate choice isn't tied to your address in Poland. You can apply in Warsaw even if your PESEL was issued in Gdańsk. The Intel.Viza wizard helps choose where to apply based on current wait times.
Several reasons: the size of the consular team, application volume from the region, political context, and which visa types get priority. In Moscow the queue is 180+ days partly due to embassy staff cuts since 2017. In Warsaw it's ~30 due to high Ukrainian volume and a well-staffed embassy.
The $185 MRV fee is non-refundable. If you're refused at one consulate, the next attempt elsewhere requires a new $185 payment. That makes getting it right the first time critical. The Intel.Viza wizard checks the consulate fits your profile.
A free 1-minute quiz shows where to apply, how long to wait, and which prep steps are critical for your profile.
